Events in the year of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, the international exhibition-forum “Russia”, the national championship “Abilympics”, the forum “Territory of the Future. Volunteer support for city events
The international volunteer corps of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War became the largest in the capital. By 2025, more than 25,000 volunteers joined it. They congratulated veterans, stood watch by monuments, and helped preserve the memory of heroic deeds. The resource center “Mosvolonter,” based at the district center “Dobroe mesto. SZAO,” provided training for volunteers according to a unified standard and held patriotic events throughout last year.
The city’s main social project to assist participants of the special military operation, residents of new and border regions “Moscow Helps,” which began four years ago, has united over 18,500 volunteers. In 2024, volunteers became indispensable assistants at the forum “Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030.” More than 5,200 city residents joined the volunteer corps of this large-scale event. The volunteer corps is a unique team in terms of structure, preparation, and functionality at the event site. The coordinator takes charge of managing the entire unit and interacts with the organizers. He oversees functional managers, who ensure quality and comfortable cooperation of teams within the framework of assigned tasks. Team leaders are experienced volunteers responsible for the actions of volunteer groups and the high result of event organization.
The volunteer corps unites assistants from various professions, ages, health capabilities, and interests. During the event, everyone can find their own areas for development, try out new fields of activity, and gain useful knowledge.

The training of the volunteer corps consists of several stages. Since 2024, the preparation of volunteers has been implemented by “Mosvolonter” in a hybrid format, including online and offline stages. A basic element of the system is the generalonline briefing, posted on the educationalplatformAt the resource center. Volunteers can attend it at a convenient time.
In-person briefings are conducted upon request by event organizers for large volunteer corps or lengthy events. In addition, separate training is implemented under the “Manage. Start” program, aimed at developing managerial skills and training leaders of functional teams.
“Mosvolonter” provides everyone who wishes with access to courses on developing soft skills, such as communication, personal branding, critical thinking, team management, planning, digital literacy, self-regulation, and results orientation.
“Moscow Volunteer Guide”helps beginner volunteers. The practicum for team leaders and managers of volunteer teams at the “Mosvolonter” library prepares them for the role of event manager. In addition, “Mosvolonter” has developed an independent product for team coordinators that can be used directly at events. This is the “Manager’s Kit” — cards that help quickly recall which exercises can be conducted for volunteer teams to get acquainted and build cohesion.
More than just help
Tatyana Bysheva began her volunteer path in 2022 by joining the organization of the International Charity Festival “White Cane.” The young woman participates in volunteer events at the Moscow State Pedagogical University and is also involved in the work of Konstantin Khabensky’s charitable foundation. She has been helping for more than a year in conducting the national championship “Abilympics,” the Moscow Children’s Art Festival “Nebo,” and the book festival “Red Square.”The most exciting event for Tatyana remains the volunteer ball, at which she, together with a team of volunteers, not only accompanies children with limited health abilities, but also dances with them.
“Volunteering is much more than just help. For me, it’s a hobby, an outlet, and also a cause in which I always receive support, gain new acquaintances, and acquire invaluable experience. At most events, I am entrusted with the position of a team leader: I manage a group of volunteers and coordinate their activities, helping them cope with tasks. Being part of a team that creates joy and comfort for Muscovites, giving my time to the city — that’s what fills my life with special meaning,” shared Tatyana.
