Washington, April 7 /Sin Hua/ — US President Donald Trump will respond to the proposal of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to extend the period for strikes against Iran by two weeks, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Tuesday.
D. Trump became known about this proposal, “and the response will follow,” said K. Livitt to the American portal Axios a few hours before the expiration of the deadline established by the American leader for concluding the deal and opening the Hormuz Strait.
“To allow diplomacy to take its course, I strongly ask President D. Trump to extend the deadline by two weeks. Pakistan sincerely asks the Iranian brothers to open the Strait of Hormuz for a similar period of two weeks as a gesture of goodwill,” Sh. Sharif wrote on Tuesday on the social network X.
On Tuesday morning, D. Trump threatened that “the entire civilization of Iran will die tonight” if a deal is not reached.
