The Higher School of Management of RUDN is expanding its range of practice-oriented educational programs and launching new training directions. The new programs are aimed at training specialists of a new generation who are capable of working at the intersection of management, digital technologies, and industry expertise.

Smart logistics

Together with one of the leaders of Russian retail — the companyX5Starting from the new academic year, RUDN launches two programs: bachelor’s degree“Intellectual technologies in logistics and supply chain”and master’s degree“Smart Logistics and Supply Chain Management”.

These are interdisciplinary programs that combine the competencies of three university departments at once: the Graduate School of Management, the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, and the Agro-Technological Institute. This form of training will allow students to obtain a comprehensive understanding of modern logistics — from strategic management and business process design to the application of artificial intelligence and understanding the industry specifics of goods movement.

Training will be built on a combination of fundamental academic preparation and practice-oriented training. The partnership with X5 will give students the opportunity to work with real cases from the country’s largest retailer, study the current challenges of the industry, and learn from the experience of active experts and top managers.

Within the framework of the program, students will be able to assemble a complete picture of logistics and supply chains — from the global strategy to the shelf readiness of a specific product. At the same time, special attention will be paid not only to studying individual elements of the system but also to understanding how they are interconnected and what role they play in business efficiency.

Synergy of Directions

Graduate School of ManagementForms managerial thinking and a systemic view of logistics processes among students. Learners master strategic management, procurement management, route planning, organization of goods movement, and improving operational efficiency. This will allow seeing the entire supply chain, understanding where costs can be reduced, and where processes can be sped up without losing quality.

Faculty of Artificial Intelligencewill be responsible for the technological component of the training. Students will familiarize themselves with tools that are already transforming the industry today: predictive analytics, automated decision-making, demand forecasting algorithms, machine learning, and Big Data. Graduates will be able not only to use digital solutions but also to implement them in real business processes, managing the digital transformation of companies.

Agrarian-Technological Instituteensure a deep understanding of industry specifics. Students study quality standards, requirements for packaging and transportation of food products, features of certification and working with different categories of products. This knowledge is especially important for the effective management of supplies in the food retail segment.

The synergy of three academic disciplines makes new programs truly unique. Graduates will be able to see logistics as a unified system, understand the mechanisms of managing transport and warehouse complexes, build modern supply chains, and apply intelligent technologies to solve real business problems.

Director of the RUDN Higher School of ManagementAnna Alexandrovna Ostrovskayaemphasized the importance of launching new programs.

“Today logistics and supply chain management are becoming one of the key fields where specialists with interdisciplinary training are especially in demand. New programs, implemented at the Higher School of Management in cooperation with the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and the Agro-Technological Institute, provide students precisely with such a set of competencies. It is particularly important for us that the training is built in partnership with X5 — this allows combining a strong academic base with real business challenges and preparing graduates capable of working confidently in the conditions of the modern economy,” —Anna Ostrovskaya.

New RUDN programs open up the opportunity for applicants to receive in-demand education oriented toward practice, technological development, and real market demands. This is training for those who want not just to study logistics, but to become a part of its future.

Ecosystem of marketplaces

University and affiliated companyWildberries & Russan agreement on cooperation was concluded, the first step of which was the launch of the master’s program “Electronic Commerce”.

The document was signed by the rector of RUDN and the head of the RVBTatyana Kim. Cooperation between two of the largest institutions — academic and business environments — is aimed at training a new generation of entrepreneurs and managers capable of working effectively within the marketplace ecosystem.

The new master’s program will combine RUDN’s fundamental academic expertise with the practical experience of an e-commerce leader. Classes will be conducted by university professors and experts from RWB University — an educational project of the parent company.

“RUDN represents an ecosystem of opportunities for students, for young people: this is not only quality education (in many directions RUDN is ranked in the world ranking in the top 50 and top 100), but also conditions for scientific research, launch of startups, formation of international connections, for the employment of our students with the best employers in our country. The launch on the RUDN platform jointly with RWB of a master’s program corresponds to the logic of strategic partnership of our university with business leaders,” —Anna Ostrovskaya.

The program is aimed at a practical trajectory of business development on the marketplace — from launch to scaling. Students will receive tools for systematic project management in the field of e-commerce, as well as access to current cases and expertise of one of the largest companies in the industry.
