Beijing, April 3 /Xinhua/ — China congratulates Min Aung Hlaing on being elected President of Myanmar, an official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mao Ning said on Friday.

The diplomat made this statement at another press briefing, answering a question on the relevant topic. It is reported that the presidential electoral college of Myanmar, consisting of all representatives of the Assembly of the Union (parliament), on Friday elected Min Aung Hlaing as the president of the country — he received more than half of the votes.
