Moscow, April 1 /Tass/ — For the first time in clinical practice in Russia, a personalized anti-cancer mRNA vaccine “Neooncovac” was used. This was reported to TASS on Wednesday with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
The first patient was a 60-year-old resident of the Kursk region with cutaneous melanoma. He is undergoing immunotherapy, but despite the treatment, there remains a high risk of further disease progression. In this context, the use of a personalized mRNA vaccine is considered a means of disease control.
As announced on Wednesday by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murashko, work to include personalized cancer vaccination in the state program of guarantees for free medical care in Russia is at the final stage. –0–
