Lanzhou, July 7 /Xinhua/ — Five people died and 12 others are missing as a result of a landslide in Gansu Province in northwest China. The incident occurred on Tuesday at about 6:56 a.m. in Renzan village, Nanhe township, Tanchang county, Longnan city of this province.
According to information from local authorities, 33 people were trapped under the rubble.
According to rescuers, as of 14:50, 21 people were found, five of whom died despite medical assistance. Search and rescue operations are currently underway intensively to determine the whereabouts of the remaining 12 people who are listed as missing. -0-
