Amman, July 7 /Xinhua/ — Jordan has evacuated 21 of its citizens from Venezuela in coordination with regional partners. The local Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reported this on Sunday.
Evacuees arrived in Amman on board a Qatar Air Force C-17 cargo plane, which on Thursday delivered humanitarian, medical and food aid from Jordan to the Venezuelan capital Caracas.
As noted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the operation was coordinated with the armed forces of Jordan in cooperation with the relevant authorities of Venezuela and Qatar.
Jordan, together with Qatar, sent two planes to Venezuela on Thursday and Friday carrying about 52 tons of specialized medical supplies for the treatment of injuries and wounds, as well as medical consumables, essential food products, and humanitarian kits to meet the urgent needs of families affected by the natural disaster.
As part of the international humanitarian response, Jordan also sent a 100-person search and rescue team to the South American country. –0–
