Second-year students of the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, studying in the field of “Landscape Architecture,” completed a paid industrial internship – from May to June they actively participated in projects of the CEH landscape-architectural workshop. The internship was organized by an employee of the workshop, assistant professor of the Department of Landscape Architecture at SPbGASU. Pavel Ostapchuk.
The students visited key nurseries and plant sales centers in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, studied the nomenclature and classification of planting material, got acquainted with the nuances of growing and caring for plants, and mastered the basic principles of lawn science.
An important part of the program was a master class by a teacher on forming geoplastics, as well as on planting perennial and woody shrub plants. The theoretical knowledge gained was immediately reinforced in practice by the students in the Vsevolozhsky district of the Leningrad region.
A practice-oriented approach to education gives students a unique opportunity to work on current projects and learn from the experience of practicing professionals.
