April 7 marks World Health Day, which is intended to draw attention to health issues and disease prevention. Rosneft in the region of its presence actively participates in creating modern infrastructure and a favorable environment for the development of medicine, a culture of healthy living, and mass sports. This is a significant contribution to achieving national goals of increasing life expectancy and realizing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals aimed at ensuring well-being for all ages.
“Rosneft” is the main technological partner of the Federal scientific and technological program for the development of genetic technologies. Within the framework of the program, the “Biotechnological Campus” was created. This is a scientific platform for the search and implementation of the latest solutions in the field of genetics, equipped with advanced equipment, its own engineering and IT infrastructure.
The “Biotechnological Campus” is implementing the National Genetic Initiative “100,000+ Genomes”, whose main task is the decoding and analysis of genomes of Russian residents to identify hereditary predispositions to severe diseases. More than 100,000 genomes of Russians have been entered into the Initiative’s database. The studies have made it possible to determine the genetic causes of diseases in more than 10,000 patients. Thousands of genetic variants associated with 500 rare (orphan) diseases were identified during the work. The obtained data create a basis for the development of personalized medicine in Russia.
Rosneft is directing significant funds towards the modernization of medical infrastructure, supporting projects to improve the accessibility and quality of medical care. For example, three major hospitals in Ufa will be equipped in 2025 with modern medical equipment — video endoscopic and laparoscopic complexes for minimally invasive surgeries, X-ray and fluorographic devices, ultrasound scanners, surgical instruments, and innovative operating tables.The Syzran Central City Hospital received modern equipment for pediatric surgery and the perinatal center. The medical facility installed an operating table, a surgical shadowless lamp, and an open resuscitation system for newborns. The new equipment allows for improved quality of medical care and expands the possibilities for patient treatment.
Rosneft directs significant funds to the creation of modern infrastructure for sports activities and also engages employees, their families, and residents of the regions in the sports and wellness movement. With the company’s support, a full-fledged site for passing the GTO standards has been opened in Samara, and a new hockey rink has been built in the settlement of Sulodol in the Samara region. In Tyumen and Turtas, pull-up bar complexes, basketball courts, and obstacle courses have been equipped. In Pyt-Yakh, sports grounds have been renovated and equipped, and in the Surgut district, a modular ski base for the school of Olympic reserves has been launched.For sports schools and sections, including for inclusive hockey teams, equipment, uniforms, and professional gear have been purchased. The company supports the development of motorsport, promoting youth involvement in an active and healthy lifestyle – for these purposes, professional motorcycles have been acquired, allowing participation in competitions at the all-Russian level.
Rosneft enterprises are organizers of large-scale mass competitions. At Salair, with the support of the company, the XXXIII Troitsk Ski Marathon was held, gathering almost 1,000 participants. In Yakutia, the Russian Championship in mas-wrestling and the Spartakiad “Games of Manchaar” took place with the participation of over seven thousand athletes and spectators.The interregional winter race “Taiga”, ski tournaments, the corporate hockey tournament “Shayba Rosnefti” uniting 16 teams from 11 regions, the yard hockey festival “First Puck”, the All-Russian youth basketball Cup of Sergey Belov in Tomsk — these and many other events involve dozens of regions of Russia.
Support for mass sports is one of the key areas of social work of Rosneft and its subsidiary enterprises. With the Company’s funds in the regions of presence, ice arenas, sports complexes, and multifunctional sports grounds are being built. The Company annually organizes mass competitions – Summer and Winter sports games, in which more than 20 thousand Company employees participate.
Within the framework of the corporate sports and wellness movement “Energy of Life,” Rosneft employees regularly engage in sports and participate in various competitions, including at the federal level. “Energy of Life” unites more than 134 thousand employees.
