Almaty, July 3 /Xinhua/ — From July 2 to 4, the 21st Exhibition of Chinese Goods in Kazakhstan is being held in Almaty at the International Exhibition Center “Atakent” — one of the largest events aimed at developing trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
The event was organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade Development under the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, together with relevant Chinese organizations.
The exhibition area reached 10,000 square meters, divided into three thematic zones: a section for premium consumer goods and fashion lifestyle, a section for modern agriculture and food supply, and a section for industrial production and equipment. This year, about 400 Chinese companies are participating in the event.
In his opening speech, the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty, Su Fangcui, noted that China is Kazakhstan’s largest trading partner and one of the main sources of foreign investment. Significant cooperation potential continues to be realized in sectors such as energy and petrochemicals, mechanical engineering, green and low-carbon development, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy. These areas are becoming new growth points, shaping a new “golden thirty years” of China-Kazakhstan relations.
The Deputy Akim /deputy head of the administration – editor’s note: Xinhua/ of Almaty, Olzhas Smagulov, stated that the Chinese goods exhibition has long become an important platform for strengthening economic and business ties between Kazakhstan and China. Today, 6,000 companies with Chinese capital participation are already operating in Almaty.
The exhibition is set to feature a series of high-quality accompanying events, including an opening ceremony, B2B negotiations, a seminar on market policy, as well as a forum on cooperation in the building materials and home goods industry “Central Asia — China.”
“We are confident that today’s exhibition will become not only a place for showcasing products but also an effective platform for new contacts, agreements, and joint projects,” concluded O. Smagulov.
