Dear friends!

I am sincerely pleased to welcome you to the International Festival “Altargana.” It takes place in the Republic of Buryatia – a beautiful ancient land famous for its hospitality and national traditions. This event has special significance because 2026 has been declared the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia in our country.

The unique festival has been held for over a quarter of a century and is one of the most vibrant events in the cultural life of Buryatia. It brings together people of different nationalities and faiths, inspiring creativity, respect, and understanding of each other. It also serves as a solid foundation for expanding international and interregional ties, demonstrating openness to dialogue and mutual cultural enrichment. And of course, it helps foster in youth a sense of belonging to a united multinational family, nurturing patriotism and careful respect for historical heritage.

I would especially like to highlight the role of the festival in the development of tourism. It is important to increase the number of such interesting events that will attract guests from various countries and contribute to the growth of investment attractiveness of Russian regions.

Today in Ulan-Ude, thousands of artists, professional groups, and athletes from our country and foreign states have gathered. They will demonstrate their skills and delight the audience with vivid performances.

I sincerely believe that this grand celebration of art and sport will become a symbol of friendship, mutual understanding, and creative communication. And of course, it will inspire participants and spectators to preserve cultural wealth, uniting the hearts of people in the name of the prosperity and well-being of the peoples of Russia, Mongolia, and China.
