Marat Khusnullin held a working meeting with the acting head of Dagestan, Fyodor Shchukin.
Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin held a working meeting with the acting Head of the Republic of Dagestan, Fyodor Shchukin. The parties discussed the current indicators of the region’s socio-economic development, key areas in housing construction and road management, as well as the implementation of tasks under the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.
“Dagestan is demonstrating positive dynamics in various areas. Housing construction is actively developing. Thus, as of June 1, 750.7 thousand square meters of housing have been commissioned, which is 20% more than during the same period last year. It is important to maintain the current pace, since such work contributes to improving the quality of life for citizens, gives an impetus to the development of infrastructure, and the creation of new jobs. This, in turn, contributes to the development of key settlements. In Dagestan, 45 such settlements have been approved, where nearly 1.5 million people live. By the President’s directive, by 2030 the quality of the living environment in these places must be improved by 30%. The tasks are complex, but I am confident that under the leadership of Fyodor Vyacheslavovich they will be gradually resolved,” said Marat Khusnullin.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted the work in the road management sector. The total length of the backbone network of highways in Dagestan is over 1,000 km, with 75.9% of the roads meeting regulatory standards. In addition, 65.45% of regional roads are in regulatory condition.
The meeting also discussed issues related to the modernization of housing and communal services. For these purposes, the republic actively uses infrastructure loans.
In turn, the acting head of the Republic of Dagestan, Fyodor Shchukin, thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for his constant attention to the needs of Dagestan and for supporting projects that help create comfortable conditions for its residents.
“In Dagestan, in fulfillment of the instructions of the President of Russia, a set of measures is being implemented to reconstruct seven facilities within the Makhachkala-Caspian agglomeration. We are receiving substantial support from the federal center in the form of treasury infrastructure loans. Thanks to this, the water supply and sewage system are being updated, which will fundamentally change the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of people. Work in the road sector continues: in 2025, 1 million square meters of asphalt were laid in Dagestan, a new road to the seaport is under construction, and bypasses around the cities of Khasavyurt and Derbent are being built; plans include a bypass of Makhachkala. New highways are appearing in the republic, old roads are being renovated, and public transport is being developed. It seems to me that this is precisely the case when changes are visible not in reports but in the everyday life of each of us,” said Fyodor Shchukin.
