Baku, July 2 /Xinhua/ — The historical path of the Communist Party of China (CPC) shows that the strength of the party lies primarily in its close connection with the Chinese people, said Elshad Mirbashir oglu, a board member of Azerbaijan’s ruling party “New Azerbaijan,” professor, and doctor of political sciences, in an exclusive interview with Xinhua.
According to him, since its founding, the party has been based on the principle of serving the people, protecting national independence, and ensuring the socio-economic development of the country. “The ideology of the CPC was formed on the basis of the principle of serving the people. That is why the party has enjoyed broad support from the Chinese people from the very beginning,” the expert noted.
Thanks to this support, the CPC was able to bring China to a high level of development, achieve a significant reduction in poverty, expand access of the population to quality education and healthcare, as well as strengthen China’s role in the system of international relations and economic cooperation, noted E. Mirbashir oglu.
The politician believes that the relationship between the CCP and the people is one of the main features of China’s modern political system; the party constantly relies on public opinion and considers it an important tool for improving state governance.
“The CPC considers the Chinese people as the main driving force behind the country’s development. The relationship between the Party and the people is based on mutual support, responsibility, and a shared aspiration for common development,” he said.
In his opinion, in the new era the concept of people-centered development has gained even deeper meaning. The CPC takes all necessary steps and mobilizes resources to improve the people’s well-being, which is the most important foundation of its legitimacy and stability.
E. Mirbashir oglu noted that under the leadership of the CPC, China has not only ensured rapid economic development but also restored the rightful place of its ancient civilization in the modern world. He especially highlighted the role of the President of the PRC, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping in the development of the party and the state. “Under the leadership of Xi Jinping, China has carried out the most impressive economic transformations in its history. The country has become an economic giant of the 21st century while maintaining high growth rates and simultaneously advancing innovation, technology, coordinated regional development, and ecological civilization,” he said.
According to him, today China is one of the world leaders in the development of high-tech manufacturing, green energy, and the digital economy, and these achievements testify to the strategic foresight of the CCP leadership and the effectiveness of the Chinese development model.
The expert emphasized that the most important feature of the Chinese political system is the combination of party leadership and state administration; the leading role of the CPC ensures political stability, sustainable development, and consistent modernization of the country.
“The effectiveness of state governance in China is directly related to the effectiveness of intraparty governance. In the CPC, the most important issues are resolved based on collective discussion, and the principle of democratic centralism ensures mandatory implementation of the decisions made,” noted E. Mirbashir oglu.
He added that the CPC pays constant attention to personnel training, strengthening discipline, ideological education of party members, and improving the control system. In his opinion, a consistent fight against corruption is of special importance, as it strengthens the people’s trust in the party and improves the effectiveness of state governance.
E. Mirbashir oglu focused on five-year plans for socio-economic development, calling them one of the key instruments of the Chinese model. He noted that since 1953, five-year plans have allowed China to determine strategic priorities, set specific goals, and ensure effective mechanisms for their achievement. “The current high level of China’s development is the result of precise and quality implementation of five-year programs,” stated the politician, adding that during the period of reform and openness, the five-year planning system acquired new significance and became an important mechanism in turning China into one of the most dynamically developing countries in the world.
The Party plays a key role not only in China’s internal development but also in shaping its foreign policy. According to him, the CPC has become one of the most influential political forces in the modern world. Under the leadership of the CPC, China actively participates in the activities of the UN, SCO, BRICS, and other international organizations. And, according to the interlocutor, connections between parties from different countries help expand China’s political contacts, open up new opportunities for economic cooperation, and allow other countries to study the Chinese development experience.
“It is difficult to name another political party that has conducted diplomacy as actively and effectively as the CPC,” he emphasized.
