The XXIV ceremony honoring the best graduates of universities in the Northern capital took place in the atrium of the Commandant’s House of the Peter and Paul Fortress. This year, the Polytechnic University was represented by Artemiy Goldberg, a master’s student in the field of “Applied Mathematics and Bioinformatics.”

Saint Petersburg is the center of education, science, and culture of our country. The field of higher education in the city has enormous potential for the confident development of the region and the entire country. And today, the most talented and ambitious university graduates have gathered in the atrium of the Commandant’s House.

The event was organized by the Committee on Youth Policy and Interaction with Public Organizations, as well as the Council of Rectors of Higher Educational Institutions of Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. Representatives of the Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg, executive bodies of state power, leaders and teachers of educational organizations were present at the ceremony.

With a welcoming speech to those gathered, the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg, Alexander Belsky, said: Saint Petersburg is rightly called the student capital: we have dozens of leading universities and scientific schools, and students directly influence the life of the metropolis. Therefore, today’s recognition is a great pride and a serious responsibility: to oneself, mentors, and the great city.

The ceremony honoring the best graduates is a long-standing tradition that demonstrates the value and significance of higher education.

On behalf of the Governor of Saint Petersburg Alexander Beglov and the City Government, congratulations to the graduates were conveyed by Vice-Governor Vladimir Knyagin: This is a momentous day, marking the completion of an important stage of your life. Hard work should always be rewarded, which is why we present letters of appreciation and awards to the best graduates. You have done a great deal of independent work, and we wish you success in your future professional endeavors for the benefit of the city and the country.
