Moscow, April 6 /Xin Hua/ — The number of tourist trips within Russia in January-February 2026 reached 12 million, which is 2.6% more compared to the same period last year. This was reported by the press service of the Russian government on Monday.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko, the most popular regions among tourists have become Moscow, Krasnodar Krai, Moscow Oblast, Saint Petersburg, Tatarstan. In addition, the popularity of such regions as Tyumen and Irkutsk Oblasts has increased.
Noticeable growth rates have been shown by regions of Russia that are actively developing tourist infrastructure. These include North Ossetia, Dagestan, and Tuva. As noted by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov, demand is being redistributed across the country, lengthening the tourist season and creating conditions for healthy competition between the regions.
