Minsk, June 29 /Xinhua/ — For the first time in the entire history of meteorological observations in Belarus, the air temperature has exceeded the 40-degree mark. The corresponding information was published on Monday by the Belta news agency, citing the Republican Center for Hydrometeorology, Radioactive Pollution Control, and Environmental Monitoring of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus.
The absolute maximum temperature in the entire history of meteorological observations of 40.4 degrees Celsius was recorded on June 29 between 14:00 and 14:20 in the city of Pinsk. The previous maximum air temperature in Belarus was recorded on August 8, 2010, in Gomel and was 38.9 degrees. –0–
