Dushanbe, April 6 /Xin Hua/ — The volume of Tajikistan’s foreign trade in goods for January-February 2026 amounted to 1.8 billion US dollars, increasing by 27.3 percent year-on-year. This is evidenced by data published on Monday by the Eurasian Development Bank /EDB/.

According to bank data, the country’s exports increased by 30.2% compared to the same period last year. The growth was ensured by an increase in supplies of mineral products, including cement, ore concentrates, and electricity, by 131%, precious metals by 208%, and textile products by 32%.

Imports for the reporting period increased by 26.6 percent year on year due to strong domestic demand, including investment demand. In particular, deliveries of machinery and equipment from abroad grew by 49.3 percent.

Analysts note that the expansion of foreign trade remains one of the key factors of the country’s economic growth. According to EAEU forecasts, Tajikistan’s economic growth in 2026 will amount to 8.1 percent.
