Rosneft, together with the domestic scientific community, traditionally celebrated Inventors and Innovators Day on the last Saturday of June. By the end of 2025, the total economic effect from implementing innovative proposals and initiatives of the Company’s employees amounted to more than 2.5 billion rubles.
In 2025, Rosneft specialists proposed more than 2,000 promising suggestions, of which 900 initiatives were recognized as rationalization proposals, and 600 have been successfully integrated into production processes. All authors of effective developments receive corporate incentives.
Specialists of the largest production asset “RN-Yuganskneftegaz” developed 44 rationalization proposals in 2025, which is 20% more than the previous year. Their implementation brought an economic effect of 847 million rubles. Among the successful proposals is the optimization of the oil station operation of pump units. Previously, during the cold period of the year, the oil system of the backup centrifugal pump for oil pumping operated around the clock to maintain the required temperature. Now, the oil stations are turned on only as needed—on average, for several hours a day, depending on weather conditions. Moreover, the implementation of the technology did not require any costs—the logic of all actions is provided in the software. The new operating principle allows saving about 600 thousand rubles per year on one unit.
Dynamic development of innovative potential is noted at “Samotlorneftegaz,” where the continuous improvements database has surpassed 13,000 initiatives since its inception in 2013. In 2025, oil workers from Samotlor submitted 406 proposals, 104 of which were implemented with a total effect of 463 million rubles. The most notable project was the program for automated selection of candidate wells for the use of mobile compressor units, applied to increase the flow rate of production wells, which saved 361 million rubles. A significant contribution to the overall pool of technological innovations is made by “RN-Vankor,” whose employees submitted 26 rationalization proposals by the end of 2025. The expected economic effect amounts to 135 million rubles. One of the proposals is their own patented invention — a pipeline device that redirects internal pipe scrapers and defectoscopes along sections of the oil pipeline without stopping the oil flow. Providing the extensive oil and gas transportation system of the Vankor cluster, which today exceeds 2200 km, with patented technological solutions increases the level of automation in the oil pumping process.
More than 170 innovative ideas were submitted at Samaraneftegaz based on the results of 2025, the economic effect of their implementation amounted to over 81 million rubles.
Systematic work on innovation management and searching for technical solutions to key challenges is established at “Orenburgneft”. In 2025, Orenburg oil workers put forward 131 proposals (25 accepted for implementation), which brought in more than 45 million rubles.
In 2025, employees of RN-Purneftegaz submitted over 328 rationalization proposals. The implementation of these ideas reduced operating costs by 25 million rubles, enabled the initiation of 4 pilot-industrial testing projects, and led to the filing of 2 patent applications. An important project was the development of a device that prevents the reverse rotation of the rotor in the centrifugal pump used for maintaining reservoir pressure.
Increasing the efficiency of production activities is one of the key elements of the “Rosneft-2030” strategy. The company is carrying out systematic work aimed at implementing advanced technological solutions and reducing operating costs of enterprises.
