“This day serves as a reminder that the main driving force of progress is people capable of turning ideas into real products and technologies. With the support of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, we are developing the All-Russian Society of Inventors and Rationalizers. During the Soviet years, this movement united more than 14.5 million people. It was a true army of innovators who created the industrial power of the country. Today, Russia faces new large-scale goals, the main one being technological leadership. In achieving it, you—talented inventors and rationalizers—play a key role. The promotion of the inventor profession is facilitated by the events of the Decade of Science and Technology. The tools of the national project “Youth and Children” are also important, involving schoolchildren and students in scientific and technological projects,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
He added that the unique experience of the veterans of the Special Military Operation is currently in high demand for solving tasks in the defense industry. At the same time, it is important to involve them in joint work by creating new VOIR units based at universities and research institutes.
Dmitry Chernyshenko also noted that Inventor and Innovator Day coincided with school graduations.
“For young people, this is an important stage: behind them are the OGE and EGE exams, ahead are admission and career choices. It is encouraging that schoolchildren choose natural science subjects and aim to obtain engineering specialties in the future,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
In conclusion, he expressed confidence that the guys would worthily carry on the work of the inventors and innovators from whom it all began.
Inventor and Innovator Day in Russia is celebrated annually on the last Saturday of June.
