Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the issues of creation and development of special economic zones, at which initiatives on the creation of an industrial-production type SEZ “Khakass Technological Valley” in the Republic of Khakassia, as well as on the expansion of the area of the existing industrial-production SEZ “Zelyonaya Dolina” in the Republic of Tatarstan, were considered.
“Special economic zones remain one of the most effective tools for attracting private investment and creating modern production. Today, we pay special attention to the quality of new projects: initiatives that receive state support must ensure real investments, the creation of jobs, and the production of in-demand products. The applications considered today meet these requirements and will contribute to the further development of the industrial potential of the regions,” noted Alexander Novak.
“Khakass Technological Valley” is being created in the territory of the city of Sayanogorsk and the Beysky district of the Republic of Khakassia with a total area of 312.2 hectares. At the first stage, it is planned to implement 5 investment projects here with a total investment volume of over 25 billion rubles and the creation of 891 jobs. On the basis of the SEZ, an industrial cluster of metallurgy, mechanical engineering, and metalworking will be formed, focused on deep aluminum processing and the production of high-tech products.
Within the framework of expanding the area of the already existing industrial production SEZ “Green Valley” in the Republic of Tatarstan, 8 projects are planned with a total investment volume of 299 billion rubles and the creation of 1841 jobs. The projects implemented on the basis of “Green Valley” are aimed at localizing the production of import-substituting products, including petrochemicals, deep processing of raw materials, and metal structures for the construction industry.
As a result of the meeting, the interdepartmental working group supported the creation of the SEZ “Khakass Technological Valley” and the expansion of the SEZ “Green Valley.”
