HSE University, State Duma, and EAEU: Joint Efforts to Promote Eurasian Integration

Representatives of the State University of Management, the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, and the leadership of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) discussed current issues of Eurasian integration.

The university was represented by Rector Vladimir Stroev, Vice-Rector, Head of the Secretariat of the Eurasian Network University (ESU), Dmitry Bryukhanov, and Vice-Rector Vitaly Lapshenkov.

The main topics of the meeting were issues of deepening Eurasian integration, the development of educational and scientific-technical cooperation within the EAEU space, as well as the discussion of current activities of the EEC. Special attention was paid to the role of universities in training personnel for the economy and infrastructure sectors of the EAEU and the prospects for cooperation between the EAEU and the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The first deputy chairman of the Committee, Vladimir Sipyagin, and the chairman of the expert council on international cooperation in education and science under the Committee, Dmitry Repnikov, were present at the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education.

From the Eurasian Economic Commission side, participants included Member of the Board (Minister) for Energy and Infrastructure Arzybek Kozhoshev, Member of the Board (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics Daniyar Imanaliev, Head of the Secretariat of the Member of the Board (Minister) for Energy and Infrastructure Alymbek Orozbekov, and others.

Participants considered practical mechanisms for implementing joint educational and research projects aimed at strengthening the human resources potential of the Eurasian Economic Union countries and increasing the competitiveness of the Eurasian space in the global knowledge economy.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to continue deepened cooperation on key areas of Eurasian integration development and strengthening partnership ties between the State University of Management, the profile committee of the State Duma, and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
