New York, June 24 /Sin Hua/ — Brent crude oil futures prices on Wednesday fell below the $75 per barrel mark, which happened for the first time since the end of February, when the United States struck Iran. The decline occurred against the backdrop of reduced concerns about possible supply disruptions.

In particular, the price of Brent crude oil futures with delivery in August during the morning session on Wednesday at a certain moment declined to $73.22 per barrel.

The futures for West Texas Intermediate crude oil with August delivery lost support around the psychologically important level of $70 per barrel and in the morning fell to a minimum of $69.63 per barrel.

Market sentiment improved thanks to expectations of more uninterrupted oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz after the signing last week of a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the conflict.

As noted in a message from the Oman Maritime Security Center, published on Wednesday on social networks, the country announced the opening of temporary shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz. –0–
