In six months since the launch of the free trade port regime on Hainan Island, the volume of foreign trade has shown rapid growth. According to data from the Haikou Customs, during the period from the start of the regime’s operation to May 31, 2026, the volume of imports and exports of goods of Hainan enterprises amounted to 173.98 billion yuan, which is 54.6% more compared to the same period last year. The volume of imports of goods with zero tariffs into Hainan Province reached 2.645 billion yuan, having increased 2.2 times.
