Dalian, June 23 /Xinhua/ — Premier of the State Council of the PRC Li Qiang met on Tuesday in the city of Dalian (Northeast China) with Guinea’s Prime Minister Amadou Uri Ba, who arrived for the 17th annual meeting of the new world leaders of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
During the meeting, Li Qian drew attention to the fact that Guinea was the first country in West Africa to establish diplomatic relations with China, and that the two countries share a long-standing friendship.
This year marks the 10th anniversary since the establishment of comprehensive strategic cooperation and partnership between the two countries, he noted. According to him, China is ready to work together with Guinea to achieve further development of their traditional friendship, provide strong mutual support on issues concerning the core interests of the two states, deepen and strengthen cooperation in all areas for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
China, continued Li Qian, is ready to activate the coordination of strategic plans with Guinea. The premier spoke in favor of the full and effective use of opportunities, which open up, in particular, thanks to the zero-tariff regime provided by China and the modernization of the “green channel” for the export of African agricultural products to China, as well as the increase in the level of cooperation in trade, agriculture, mining industry, and other sectors.
Li Qian expressed hope that the Guinean side would provide stable political guarantees and a favorable business environment for Chinese enterprises investing in Guinea. He also called on both sides to work on the deeper implementation of 10 partnership action plans proposed at the Beijing Forum on China-Africa Cooperation summit.
Amadou Uri BA, for his part, expressed interest in studying and borrowing from China’s positive experience in fighting poverty and developing modernization, as well as gratitude for China’s valuable help in the economic and social development of Guinea.
Guinea hopes that joint efforts with China will implement the important consensus reached by the heads of the two states, activate exchanges at all levels, delve deeper into key projects, including the Simandou project, expand cooperation in trade, infrastructure, agriculture, energy, science and technology, as well as raise the level of industrial cooperation, the prime minister said. -0-
