Beijing, June 22 /Xinhua/ — At the invitation of Premier Li Qiang of the State Council of the PRC, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina will visit China on an official visit from June 24 to 26. This was announced on Monday by the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gao Xiankun.

As reported by a Chinese diplomat at a regular briefing for journalists, the upcoming trip will be the first visit of Prime Minister T. Rassman to China since he took office.Go Ziyakun noted that during the visit, Chairman of the KNSC Xi Jinping, Premier of the State Council Li Qiang, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji will hold separate meetings or negotiations with him, during which there will be an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations, as well as international and regional issues representing mutual interests, in order to outline the vector for the development of interstate relations.

According to an official representative of the Chinese MFA, T. Rahman will participate in the 17th annual meeting of new world leaders of the World Economic Forum, also known as the “Summer Davos”, which will be held in the city of Dalian, Liaoning Province /Northeast China/.

Stating that China and Bangladesh are traditional friendly neighbors who have established all-encompassing strategic cooperation and partnership, Go Ciyakun noted that in recent years, under the strategic leadership of the leaders of both countries, China-Bangladesh relations have continued their steady development, political mutual trust between the two countries is steadily deepening, and practical cooperation is yielding considerable results, providing tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries.

China intends to take advantage of the upcoming visit of T. Rahman for joint work with the new government of Bangladesh in order to strengthen strategic communication, continue traditional friendship, promote high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative, expand exchanges and cooperation in various spheres, strengthen coordination on multilateral affairs, and facilitate elevating China-Bangladesh relations to a new height of all-encompassing strategic cooperation and partnership, summarized Go Ziyakun.
