Beijing, June 21 /Xinhua/ — On Sunday, the last day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, a peak in return passenger flow on China’s railways is expected. The total volume of transportation for the day is forecasted to be at the level of 17.94 million passenger trips. This was reported by the state-owned corporation “China Railway” /CR/.

To meet the growing demand for transportation, a total of 1,355 additional passenger trains were scheduled that day, the China Railway Corporation announced.

On Saturday, more than 12.14 million passengers were transported by the country’s railways. At the same time, passenger transportation remained safe, stable, and orderly throughout the entire day.

The Duanwu Festival this year fell on a Friday. By chance, the holiday in the country is extended from Friday to Sunday.
