Washington, June 20 /Xin Hua/ — The Strait of Hormuz remains open, and the intensity of commercial shipping on it is increasing. This was stated on Saturday by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM).
“Safe passage on this international waterway was ensured today — 55 commercial vessels passed through the strait, delivering large shipments of cargo and more than 17 million barrels of oil to global markets,” the command stated.
“The US is expanding its presence in the region and entering a state of heightened readiness to ensure compliance with all aspects of the agreement with Iran, and to fully enforce its legal force,” the statement notes.
