Washington, June 20 /Xinhua/ — Special envoy of the U.S. President Donald Trump, Steven Witkoff, and the son-in-law of the American president, Jared Kushner, have already arrived in Switzerland to conduct negotiations with Iran. This was reported by U.S. Vice President Joe Di Vance.
In an interview with Fox News on Saturday, J. D. Vance stated that he expects to travel to Switzerland soon to participate in negotiations that could start as early as June 21.
Also on Saturday, the central headquarters of the Armed Forces of Iran, ‘Khatam al-Anbiya’, announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, citing the “violation” by the United States of a recently signed memorandum of understanding and the “non-compliance” by Israel with the ceasefire regime in southern Lebanon.
J. D. Vance noted that there is no evidence that Iran is blocking the Strait of Hormuz.
“We do not see any evidence that the Iranians are still blocking the Strait of Hormuz. However, its clearance requires some time,” said J.D. Vance in an interview with Fox News.
