In the first quarter, Georgia exported 17.3 million liters of wine to 51 countries worldwide

Tbilisi, April 6 /Sinyu/ — In the first quarter of the current year, 17.3 million liters of wine were exported from Georgia to 51 countries worldwide for a total amount of 53.2 million US dollars. This was reported on Monday by the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia.

As noted by the agency, compared to the same period last year, the volume of exports increased by 5%, while their value rose by 7%.

A growth in the supply of Georgian wine to a number of strategic markets has been recorded. In particular, exports to China increased by 4 percent in annual terms, amounting to approximately 831 thousand liters. Supplies to Germany increased by 32 percent to 375 thousand liters, and to the United Kingdom by 9 percent to 86 thousand liters.

Meanwhile, exports of distilled alcoholic beverages from Georgia in the first quarter were carried out to 38 countries. The total volume of deliveries amounted to 7.6 million liters for a total of 56.6 million dollars. Export revenue in this segment increased by 3%.
