Jerusalem, April 6 /Xinhua/ — The Israeli Air Force attacked the largest oil chemical enterprise of Iran in the Assaluyeh area of Bushehr province in the south of the country. This was announced on Monday by the Israeli Minister of Defense Israel Katz.

I. Katz reported that Israel “has just delivered a powerful strike on the largest oil chemical facility in Iran, located in Assaluyeh,” adding that this enterprise provides about 50 percent of the Islamic Republic’s oil chemical production.

The Israeli minister made a corresponding statement in his video address following information from the Iranian media about a strike on energy facilities in this area.

According to the Iranian semi-official news agency Fars, several explosions occurred during the attack by the USA and Israel on oil and chemical complexes.

Iranian media reported that the situation is “under control,” and the extent of the damage caused is being assessed.

In March, Israel carried out similar strikes on Iranian oil and chemical facilities, in response to which Iran attacked oil and gas infrastructure throughout the region.
