The Secretary of the Commission under the President of the Russian Federation on issues of strategy for the development of the fuel and energy complex and environmental safety, Igor Sechin, believes that today Russia is a guarantor of global energy security and that it is impossible to exclude our country from the global supply chains.
“Our country has the largest reserves of oil and gas in the world amounting to about 60 billion tons of oil equivalent, which is 14% of the world’s reserves. In terms of coal reserves, our country ranks fifth in the world,” he stated, speaking with a keynote report at the Energy Panel within the framework of the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
It is impossible to exclude Russia from global supply chains.
“Against the backdrop of ongoing events in the global oil industry, Russian economic partnership with China and India in the field of economics guarantees stable supplies to both these countries. Russian oil supplies bring a tangible economic effect to our partners. Since April 2022, the total volume for China and India has exceeded 40 billion dollars,” Sechin emphasized.
