Moscow, June 17 /Xin Hua/ — On Tuesday in Moscow, at the State Historical Museum, the exhibition “100 Years of TASS Photography” opened, dedicated to the history of the oldest photo service of Russia and the CIS countries.
The exhibition features iconic TASS frames from various eras that reflect the most important moments of history. Visitors can also see video materials about the technical characteristics of cameras and filming methods used by the agency’s photo correspondents.
“TASS photo archive is a bulletproof vest that doesn’t allow anyone to distort historical facts. Because any photo taken back then, at that place and by that particular photojournalist, is the historical truth that we cherish and are proud of today,” said TASS General Director Andrey Kondrashov.
He added that after 100 years, the agency will have 73 million photographs, and every day this archive is replenished with thousands of new images.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until August 31, 2026.
