Beijing, June 16 /Xinhua/ — China expresses serious concern about the current situation around Lebanon and Israel; the sovereignty and security of Lebanon must not be violated. This was stated on Tuesday by the official spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Song.
Lin Ziyan made corresponding statements at a regular briefing for journalists, commenting on media reports that, despite the first point of the American-Iranian agreement calling for the cessation of war on all fronts, attacks on Lebanon still continue.
China hopes that the relevant parties will show caution in their statements and actions, firmly adhere to the choice in favor of peace, conscientiously fulfill the conditions for ceasefire, in order to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable cessation of hostilities and create conditions for maintaining peace and stability in the Middle East, added the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
