A new six-story building “Vozhaty-2” has been built and is being prepared for commissioning at the international children’s center “Artek” in the Republic of Crimea. It is equipped with 145 living rooms, a mediateka, classrooms and computer labs, as well as spacious recreational areas. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the Government Marat Khusnullin.
“The International Children’s Center ‘Artek’ is a unique camp that the entire country rightfully prides itself on. Therefore, its infrastructure must meet the most modern standards. Today, the children’s center is 101 years old, and by order of the President, we continue its gradual development. The new building ‘Camp Counselor-2’, with a total area of about 12 thousand square meters, was built using modular construction technology. It is designed for 400 places and intended for the residence of camp counselors and educators. Here, all conditions for comfortable work and rest have been created: modern classrooms, a media center, high-quality engineering systems.”Specialists are currently completing the commissioning and connecting a new boiler house. Earlier, they improved the territory — they carried out asphalting and laid paving stones, installed small architectural forms, and carried out landscaping,” said Marat Khusnullin.
The construction of a new building for counselors is linked to plans to open the “Sunny” educational center in “Artek,” whose effective operation requires attracting additional staff. The construction is carried out within the framework of the state program “Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.”
“On the territory of ‘Artek’ reconstruction is underway: the development program of MDC ‘Artek’ for the period 2026–2030 is being implemented, which includes activities for 39 facilities in order to create world-class infrastructure for the benefit of children. The new building will create comfortable living conditions and professional growth opportunities for the center’s staff,” said the first deputy minister of construction and housing and communal services of the Russian Federation, Alexander Lomakin.
Work at the site is carried out under the control of the UCC “Unified Customer in the construction sector.”
“The ‘hybrid-modular technology’ on which the new building for the counselors was constructed allowed for a significant reduction in the construction time of the building by performing the main construction and finishing works at the modular structure manufacturing plant. The factory readiness of the modules included engineering systems, interior finishing, facades, windows, and doors. In addition, specialists performed work on the site to arrange engineering protection of the building’s territory from landslide processes,” said Karen Oganesyan, General Director of PPC ‘United Customer.’
Also, on the territory of MDC “Artek” a new Innovation Educational Technologies Center with an area of over 27 thousand sq. m has been previously built, the infrastructure of the “Solnechny” center has been updated, a new swimming pool has been opened in the “Lesnoy” camp, and engineering networks, roads, and embankments are being comprehensively modernized.
