Moscow, June 15 /Xin Hua/ — In the Irkutsk region of Russia, a Tu-22M3 aircraft crashed on Monday, the incident occurred during a planned training flight of an aircraft during its landing approach. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“The crew ejected. There are no threats to the pilots’ lives and health. There is no damage on the ground. The aircraft was flying without armament,” indicated the Russian military department.
Governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev reported on his channel in the messenger that a Tu-22M3 crashed during landing in the Bolshansky district, not far from the village of Kamenka.
Tu-22M3 is a long-range supersonic missile carrier-bomber that is part of the long-range aviation of the Aerospace Forces of Russia.
