Tashkent, June 13 /Sinchua/ — The World Bank /WB/ has raised its forecast for Uzbekistan’s Gross Domestic Product /GDP/ growth in 2026 to 6.4 percent. This is stated in the June review of the Bank on the global economy.

The current indicator is 0.4 percentage points higher than the January estimates of the banks. According to the document, Uzbekistan has entered the ranks of a few countries in the Europe and Central Asia region and the world as a whole, whose economic prospects have been revised upward in the context of the overall slowdown in global growth.

The trajectory of Uzbekistan’s economic development demonstrates high stability. According to WB estimates, Uzbekistan’s GDP growth in 2025 will be 7.7 percent. The forecast for 2027 is fixed at 6.7 percent.

The authors of the report state that global economic growth in the current year will slow down to 2.5 percent due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, which triggered a surge in energy prices and renewed inflationary pressures.

The World Bank warns that the key risks for regional prospects remain possible delays or further aggravation of the conflict in the Middle East, tightening of global financial conditions, and uncertainty in international trade policy.

Data for the June issue of the report were recorded as of June 2, 2026.
