Mencun-Huixi Autonomous County in the city of Zhangzhou, Hebei Province, is the birthplace of the “Ba Ci Yuan School of Kaimen.” This Ba Ci Yuan school, with its centuries-old history, was included in the list of intangible cultural heritage at the national level in 2008.
In recent years, local authorities have given new life to this traditional martial art, holding events to popularize the culture of Wushu in schools, organizing free training courses, and opening training centers abroad. Currently, centers for studying the “Baji Quan schools of Kai Men” operate in more than 30 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions of China, as well as in more than a dozen countries, including Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the USA.
