Washington, June 10 /Xin Hua/ — The United States Armed Forces (USAF) on the evening of June 9 withdrew an oil tanker from formation in the Oman Gulf. The American forces struck a vessel for the second time in two days that was not observing the ongoing naval blockade of all Iranian ports. The strike was announced on Wednesday by the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
According to the command on the social network X, the American aircraft fired precision munitions at the engine compartment of the tanker Settebello, operating under the flag of Palau, after the crew “several times failed to comply with the instructions of the American forces.”
CENTCOM claims that a tanker attempted to transport oil from Iran.
It is clarified that since the introduction of the blockade on April 13, the US Armed Forces have withdrawn eight vessels from service that did not comply with the requirements, redirected 134 vessels that complied with the requirements, and allowed 42 vessels with humanitarian aid to pass through. –0–
