Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin held a working meeting with the acting governor of the Belgorod region, Alexander Shuvaev. The parties discussed the socio-economic development of the border region, measures to support citizens, and key indicators in the field of construction and road economy.

“Belgorod Oblast is a border region, and the situation there is complex. Despite this, extremely important consistent work is underway for its development. Yesterday, the Chairman of the Government signed an order to reimburse the region’s expenses to assist families of relocated persons. More than 1.7 billion rubles will be allocated from the Belgorod Oblast reserve fund. This will enable covering rental housing costs for more than 11.8 thousand families in 2024–2025. Housing was also discussed. Since the beginning of the year, almost 300 thousand square meters have already been introduced in the region — an increase of 16.2% compared to last year.”The construction pulls along infrastructure and jobs, so it is important to keep up the pace,

Special attention at the meeting was given to the development of support settlements. The list of support settlements included 21 settlements where almost 905 thousand people live – this is almost 60% of the region’s population.

Marat Husnullin also noted good indicators in the region’s road economy: the share of regional roads meeting standards is 72.1%, and in the largest urban agglomeration this indicator reaches almost 86%.

“The main thing is the safety of the residents and assistance to the border area. Marat Shakirzyanovich has been in the region and knows the situation personally. Thanks to the support of the federal center, the region will receive funds from the reserve fund to compensate for housing rents for internally displaced persons. We also continue to prepare energy facilities for the heating season, develop key settlements, and improve road infrastructure. I am sincerely grateful to the vice-premier for comprehensive support and deep understanding of the problems that concern the people of Belgorod,” said the acting governor of Belgorod region Alexander Shuvaev.
