Tbilisi, June 9 /Sina/ — Transitioning Georgian-Chinese relations to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership will bring even more results in deepening bilateral cooperation. This was stated on Tuesday by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze to journalists.
As he noted, about three years ago Georgia and China signed a strategic partnership agreement, and now bilateral relations are entering a new stage.
“Over these three years, our political and economic ties have been significantly strengthened. This has been reflected in concrete results: a visa-free regime operates between the two countries, direct air communication has been established, and this year new flights are being added, which will provide even greater mobility for citizens,” the head of the Georgian government indicated.
I. Kobalidze added that significant progress has also been made in trade and economic cooperation.
On June 9, China and Georgia announced the elevation of bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership. The corresponding decision was made on the day of the 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and was reflected in congratulatory messages from the Chairman of the CPC Xi Jinping and the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili. –0–
