Shijiazhuang, April 5 /Xinhua/ — The three-day 2026 China-Russia friendly hockey match started on Saturday in the Kanbao district of Zhangjiakou city, Hebei Province /Northern China/.
This event adheres to the concept of “Friendship, exchange, competition, and mutual benefit” and is intended to build a bridge for sports and cultural exchange between the youth of China and Russia. The tournament, which is held in two categories U12 and U15, features 10 teams from both countries.
The coach of the Russian hockey team “Temp” from Artem, Vyacheslav Vlasov, noted that his players are very happy to participate in competitions in Kanbao. There is excellent infrastructure and a wonderful atmosphere here. For them, joint games and exchange of experience with Chinese young hockey players have become a valuable experience, and he hopes for further development of exchanges in the field of hockey between the two countries.
Gao Syumin, a player of the hockey team “Syuelan” / “Snow Wolves” / from the School of Foreign Languages at Beijing Foreign Studies University, said that joint performances with Russian teams have become valuable experience. They allowed not only to hone technical and tactical skills and deepen the love for winter sports, but also to strengthen friendly ties in the process of communication.
Kanbaw district, located on the Bashan plateau, has rich resources for the development of winter sports. In recent years, many national tournaments have been successfully held here, and winter sports have already become the calling card of Kanbaw on the international stage.
