Urumqi, June 9 /Xin Hua/ — Member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee, Chairman of the All-China Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning emphasized the necessity of ensuring social stability and promoting modernization in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region /XUAR, Northwest China/.
Van Hunin made this statement during an inspection trip to Xinjiang, which lasted from Friday to Tuesday.
He emphasized that ensuring social stability must remain the main priority, and called for actions to strengthen social governance and implement innovations in this area, as well as to promote the rule of law and sustained efforts to combat terrorism.
He also noted the importance of strengthening the consciousness of the Chinese nation’s community as a central task, calling for the effective implementation of the Law on Promoting National Unity and Progress, as well as strengthening the management of religious affairs in accordance with the law.
Regarding economic development, Wan Hunin called for the development of new quality productive forces in accordance with local conditions and the creation of a modern industrial system based on the unique advantages of Xinjiang.
He added that it is necessary to activate efforts to develop the southern part of Xinjiang, consolidate and expand achievements in the fight against poverty, as well as create more jobs through various channels. -0-
