More than 1.7 billion rubles will be additionally allocated from the federal budget for free medicines, medical devices, and therapeutic nutrition for preferential categories of citizens. The order on this was signed by the Chairman of the Government, Mikhail Mishustin.
Such a support measure is provided to disabled persons, Chernobyl victims, combat veterans, participants of the Great Patriotic War, family members of deceased war invalids, participants of the Great Patriotic War and combat veterans, as well as to people awarded the badges “Resident of Blockaded Leningrad”, “Resident of Besieged Sevastopol”, and “Resident of Besieged Stalingrad”.
The need for specific medicines and medical products for each person is determined by their attending physician.
Earlier, the Government indexed the amount for which beneficiaries can receive medicines, medical devices, and therapeutic nutrition. The decision required additional funding, with the help of which regions will be able to purchase the necessary drugs and products.
A total of over 74 billion rubles are allocated for these purposes in the federal budget for 2026.
