Uliansu Ai-Nur Lake, located in the Urad-Qianzi township of Bayan-Nur autonomous district, Inner Mongolia, in the upper reaches of the “Great Bend” of the Huang He River, is known as the “Pearl behind the Great Wall.” In recent years, local authorities have undertaken several measures to improve water quality and restore the lake’s ecosystem: alongside the use of water from the Huang He River to replenish the lakes, strict control over various sources of pollution has been established. As a result, the ecological condition of the lake is improving year by year.
