Specialists from the Tomsk Design Institute “Rosneft” have developed a prototype decision support system based on artificial intelligence. The digital assistant is intended to optimize the operation of the water preliminary discharge unit and, according to preliminary calculations, reduce the operating costs of the facility by up to 80 million rubles per year.
The assistant is based on verified mathematical models, including those developed by machine learning methods. To create it, specialists used massive operational data collected and processed over the past three years. The information is processed, synchronized, and brought to a single standard, which ensures high accuracy and reliability of the algorithms.
Thanks to the detailing of data on the technological process, the intellectual system will be able to evaluate the efficiency of equipment operation in real-time mode. The installation personnel will receive a tool for precise control of modes and making more balanced and prompt decisions during operation and maintenance.
A digital assistant involves work in three main areas: virtual sensors, mode optimization, and simulation.
In the first scenario, the system restores missing data and forecasts product quality, which is especially important when working with complex equipment.
For optimization of modes, the assistant selects the most effective and economical parameters for the equipment’s operation, providing recommendations to users to achieve target indicators with minimal costs.
The “simulation” mode helps virtually assess the consequences of changing certain parameters. Operators will be able to make optimal decisions before actual intervention in the operation of the installations, reducing risks and increasing safety.
The use of the system opens up significant opportunities for optimizing operational costs by reducing reagent dosages, lowering energy consumption, reducing labor costs, and minimizing laboratory testing.
The application of artificial intelligence technologies in the production process is one of the key vectors of the Company’s digital transformation. Rosneft consistently bets on innovation, viewing technological leadership as the basis of competitiveness in the oil and gas market.
