Moscow, April 5 /Xin Hua/ — Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on Saturday condemned the new missile shelling of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) “Bursher” and expressed condolences in connection with the death of one of the plant’s employees.
“These illegal and reckless actions are an indelible stain on the international reputation of those who fire rockets at the Bushehr nuclear power plant and other facilities guaranteed by the Agency / IAEA, and give the command to strike. Essentially, they have completely nullified their previous reputation in the field of nuclear non-proliferation, as well as nuclear and physical nuclear security, declaring that they themselves do not recognize any norms or restrictions,” says the comment of the Russian diplomat, published on the official website of the agency.
According to her, every effort is being made by the Russian side to draw the attention of the international community and the broad global public to the fact that the situation at the Bushehr NPP is approaching a dangerous threshold. The worst can still be avoided, but for this, strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran, including the Bushehr NPP, must be immediately stopped.
