Addis Ababa, April 5 /Sina Hua/ — The Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress /NPC SC/ Wu Weisua called for closer cooperation with Ethiopia during his three-day visit to the East African country.
During his stay in Ethiopia, U Waisua met on Friday with the President of the country, Tayye Atske Selassie, the Speaker of the Lower House of the Ethiopian Parliament — the Council of People’s Representatives — Tagesse Chafo, and the Chairman of the Council of the Federation, Agene Su Tessagero.
In recent years, under the strategic leadership of the leaders of both countries, Sino-Ethiopian relations have developed rapidly, and pragmatic cooperation has yielded fruitful results, said Wu Weisua.
He expressed China’s readiness to cooperate with Ethiopia in implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of both sides and the results of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), as well as in activating the exchange of experience in management and promoting an all-weather strategic partnership between China and Ethiopia.
The UAE also informed the Ethiopian side about the 15th five-year plan of the CPR and Beijing’s decision to introduce a zero-tariff policy for 53 African countries that have diplomatic relations with China.
