Yaunde, June 7 /Xin Hua/ — 11 people died on Saturday as a result of a conflict between farmers and herders in Chad. This was reported by local media.
Clashes erupted in several villages of the Kim subprefecture in the Eastern Mayo-Kebi province after a herd of livestock devastated a farm.
Five people were wounded, and several houses in the village were set on fire.
In Chad, collisions between farmers and herders often occur due to land issues. According to the latest data published by the country’s Ministry of Public Security and Immigration, from 2024 to 2025, as a result of periodic intercommunal clashes, 3018 people died and another 3015 were injured.
