This year, all metrological departments of “KAMAZ”, led by the chief metrologist’s department, are celebrating a golden jubilee.

The order to create the metrological service at “KAMAZ” was signed in February 1976. Currently, more than 108 thousand SI units are used in production, 80% of the volume of which are verified and calibrated by our accredited laboratories. This year, experts from Rosaccreditation have confirmed the competence of “KAMAZ” in ensuring the uniformity of measurements (verification) according to the accreditation criteria and requirements, which allows the company to save significant funds. Also among the tasks of the unit is to ensure the uniformity of measurements, that is, all metrological processes must comply with legislative requirements. In particular, in accordance with the Federal Law “On ensuring the uniformity of measurements,” metrologists must perform verification, calibration, repair of measuring instruments, and carry out metrological supervision and expertise. Only in this case can the accuracy and operability of metrological equipment be guaranteed and enable the worker in production to correctly measure a part, ensure that it corresponds to the parameters specified in the drawing, and thereby confirm its quality.The federal law “On Accreditation…” regulates the relations between participants of the national accreditation system (FSA). It establishes legal requirements for laboratories to confirm their competence.

“KAMAZ” has accreditation for verification, and for this everything necessary is in place: specialists – verifiers, equipment – standards, premises where appropriate conditions are created. At the same time, under the control of the Department of the Chief Metrologist, there are nine areas of accreditation, covering parameters of various physical quantities., – notedSergey Fyodorov. The database of metrological equipment is constantly changing. Currently, alongside the testing equipment, technical systems and devices with measuring functions (TSUF) have started to be actively used. Since the department’s activity sphere includes organization, management, and control of all measuring technology tools, a management group for metrological equipment has been created, whose tasks include, among other things, control over such devices. Together with the subdivisions, meticulous work is carried out to determine the status of such equipment for its effective management.

To keep track of the status of such a large number of measurement instruments, the program “Accounting of measurement instruments 1C:TOiR” (technical maintenance and repair) was developed and implemented. This project was successfully realized in tandem with the administrators of the Center for Information Technologies. This tool has eased the work not only for all metrology specialists, but also for employees of related departments, for whom information about measuring equipment is essential for its operation. Already now, the number of users exceeds 300 people.Such processes as the annual preparation of schedules and lists of repairs, inspection of measuring instruments, formation and printing of passports and other documents at CI have been automated.

With the help of 1C:TOIR, data on the verification of measuring instruments is automatically transmitted to the Federal State Information System “Arshin” – an online database of Rosstandart, created for accounting and storing information about all verified instruments.
