Colombo, June 4 /Xin Hua/ — 12 people died as a result of a fire that broke out in a nursing home in the Western Province of Sri Lanka on Wednesday evening. This was reported by the local police on Thursday.
The incident occurred in the Anguruvata area of the city of Khoran. According to authorities, 44 people were safely evacuated, seven more were injured and taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.
It is reported that three people are missing.
The exact cause of the fire is being determined.
